Dear Lady, don’t crush my heart, with pains and sorrows

By Rachel Balter

Graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a BA in the Arts, Rachel Balter is a recent transplant to the Chicago arts community. A graphic designer of 5+ years, she has design experience ranging from being the head design lead for Chicago non-profits to creating eye popping illustrations for tabletop rpg accessories. Having been uncomfortable with labels her whole life, she describes her artwork and medium as a “maker of things and objects”. Her artwork often explores the liminal spaces of the in-between, the spaces and emotions that have a transformative nature. Things and objects that are in a constant state of being defined and redefined, of crossing a threshold.

3"x3"x4" Mixed Media (Modeling clay, found objects, acrylic paint)
