In my work, I want to address the singularity of experience. I focus on the body, movement, color, and emotion. Each person has a unique experience of constant emotions, even when in the same situation as others. I like to explore the different ways I can capture emotion and movement in one still piece. The minimized range of color and the different treatment of the paint medium demonstrate the light and dark moments of one’s emotions and the varying scale demonstrates how certain experiences can envelop or isolate a person. I want my work to draw the viewer close and cause them to experience a seemingly unexplored world of color and emotion.
