Grrrls Room

My name is Kat Savage. I am a queer femme photographer who has been working in the world of sex work for 4 years. My photographic work is centered around queer sex workers. My work unifies the feelings and thoughts that most sex workers, especially queer sex workers, have: the general frustration, resentment, and anger at the patriarchy. In these photographs, I had the divine pleasure of working with a group of queer sex workers who have found best friendship in the club. Here, I capture their joy, love, and appreciation of one another. Sex work has saved a lot of us in many different ways, but being a part of the community of queer sex workers in Chicago has been the the most special and important to me. I hope when my fellow sex workers look at my art, they feel seen, understood, and loved.
