Hope will never be silent

By Sydni Peeler

I grew up around artistic people, primarily my grammy who I watched paint all the time. My grammy was a human rights & black panther activist, and she used her art as her therapy. I believe some of this drives my influences in exploring world cultures as I love to show the vulnerability of humanity. As an aviator, I also combine my passion for earthly photography and my exposure to different landscapes influences diversity in my work.

As an African-American woman who is a descendant of slaves, I have a longing to understand my roots. As I have began my journey in discovering my different lineages from the Native American tribe Choctaw and West-Africa, I am finding so much beauty and diversity in different countries and ethnic groups and I aim to share these with the world through my paintings.

24”x 36" Acrylic on Canvas
