Kelly Zhong

My work explores the role of relationships and the various forms they manifest within ourselves and others. I view my artwork as informal self-portraits – drawings that reflect parts of myself without ever showing actual facial features. Instead, body language or objects are used to convey personal experiences. This painting is inspired by my memories of endless summer picnics and weekend getaways. I feel a certain sense of melancholy as I reflect on days from the past where there were no worries and summer seemed to stretch on forever.
